Julia Butterfly Hill met with the Ecological Panel
Consortium in 2000 on her first trip to Italy whilst promoting her book
"The Legacy of Luna" (published by Corbaccio).
She wanted to see and to learn about the production processes that result
in the realisation of a Panel that no other country in the world is currently
able to manufacture.
"A panel made entirely of recycled
wood is like a tree that has been saved, a tree that has not been
felled ".
"My smile reflects my joy in seeing how the industrial
world is offering a concrete alternative to cutting down
trees. The work carried out by the Ecological Panel Consortium
cancels the concept of "waste": a concept that
shouldn't even exist since everything produced by the earth
should return to it. Nothing should be lost. Here I have
seen stacks of wood salvaged and I have thought of all the
trees that these woodpiles have helped to save."
